If you have eaten too much, you carry on with life as normal. In other words:
1. no guilting yourself
2. no worrying you have “failed” at intuitive eating
3. no “I blew it so might as well binge”
4. no skipping your next meal (this will just provoke a binge/restrict cycle)
Just do “the next best thing” as author Jenni Schaefer says. Eating “too much” is sometimes part of normal eating - Intuitive Eating is a lifestyle change, not a set of laws you can “break.”
